In the very early days of his profession, Terry recalls being in clients' homes and keeping his feet flat on the floor to hide the holes in the bottom of his shoes. But hard work pays off—and he quickly excelled in the insurance field.
Terry O'Reilly began his insurance career as a life insurance agent for MetLife. He excelled in this role and was being trained for a management position when a friend from Allstate told him about P&C renewal income. Soon after, Terry became an Allstate agent—and had a fantastic rookie year.
Terry was soon promoted to District Sales Manager. He experienced much success and learned the insurance business inside and out. During this time, he earned several top sales awards and traveled to London, Hawaii, and Mexico. He discovered he had a natural ability to recruit and train new agents to be successful. He led the Chicago area in recruiting for many years, until out of the blue ...
... Terry's position was eliminated at Allstate. He joined Country Companies as an independent captive agent, where he once again earned top recognition sales awards. He was being considered for a sales management position, but didn't feel right about accepting, as he still felt too restricted in a captive setting.
One morning, a couple of ex-Allstate agents invited Terry to breakfast. He learned about the options TRUE independent agents could offer their clients and the value they bring. He knew it was EXACTLY what he needed to move foward and start enjoying the business again.
Terry joined Manzke Insurance Agency in Orland Park, IL as an independent agency producer. The name was later changed to Manzke and Travaglini Insurance Agency.
Terry became a partner, and the agency name was changed to MTO Insurance Agency (Manzke, Travaglini, and O'Reilly).
Terry became sole owner of the agency and changed the name to Insurance Pro Agencies—with a vision of creating a network.
The agency contracted its first independent agency, and the "network" was born.
A decade into his career, Terry became tired of the company dictating his goals. The only time he felt independent was when a bill needed to be paid. Sound familiar? Frustrated, Terry began building his own agency and decided to go independent.
Adam O'Reilly joined IPA as the Controller.
Dave O'Reilly purchased a book of business and joined IPA as an independent agent.
IPA sold a decent chunk of the book of business to focus all of our efforts on growing the agency network.

Rebranded the IPA network and launched an online presence.

The recognition and awards have continued as an independent agent, but now Terry is free to establish his own goals and enjoy the benefit of his hard work. Being an independent agency owner has allowed Terry to pursue his passion for travel and golf, and he even became a private pilot.
Terry O’Reilly has worked in the insurance industry since 1982 with experience in property & casualty and life insurance sales, captive and independent retail sales operations, district sales management, and running an independent agency network.
Adam began his career in the professional sports industry which included working for the Chicago Bears. Since joining IPA in 2010, he has been instrumental in automating the commissions process and he now oversees all financial related matters for the company.
In 2012, Dave purchased a book of business and started his career in the insurance industry as an independent agent. After learning the ins and outs of the business, he joined the network side of IPA and took over agency operations. He now oversees agency recruiting and consults with agents going through the direct carrier appointment process.
Safeco honored Insurance Pro Agencies with the 2020 President's Award. Safeco annually recognizes and rewards a select group of top agencies with the President’s Award based on a formula that weighs size, growth and profitability (loss ratio). The President’s Award is the highest honor at Safeco Insurance.
Progressive recognized Insurance Pro Agencies as a member of the 2019 Platinum 25. This exclusive designation is reserved for the top 25 agencies in the country with the highest number of net created Platinum home/condo + auto bundled PIFs and who also have a 2019 Personal Lines CAT-adjusted loss ratio under 65.00%. IPA came in at #9 in the nation!
Nationwide honored Insurance Pro Agencies with the 2018 Champion Award only given out to the top 340 agencies across the country based on a combination of factors including total written premium and growth.
