Editorial Policy

How we research, write, and maintain the insurance content on this site — and who reviews it.

Last updated: October 2026

Who We Are

Insurance Pro Agencies (IPA) is a licensed independent insurance agency headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. We operate as an insurance aggregator — helping independent agents access carriers and helping consumers and businesses find coverage through our carrier partners.

The content on this site is produced by IPA staff and reviewed by licensed insurance professionals with real-world experience placing commercial and personal lines coverage.

Expert Review

All insurance content on insuranceproagencies.com is reviewed by a licensed insurance professional before publication. Our reviewers hold active producer licenses and have direct experience with the coverage types, carrier requirements, and state regulations described on this site.

Content that references specific state laws, licensing requirements, workers' compensation rules, or regulatory agencies is verified against primary government sources — including state department of insurance websites, workers' compensation commission publications, and licensing authority portals — before publication.

How We Determine Cost Estimates

The monthly cost ranges shown on our industry pages are estimates based on:

  • •Industry data for small businesses with less than $500,000 in annual revenue and no prior claims history
  • •General liability policy premiums as a baseline (not bundled policies, unless otherwise noted)
  • •National averages — actual premiums vary significantly by state, city, payroll size, coverage limits, and individual underwriting factors
  • •Carrier data from our network of appointed carriers, including NEXT Insurance (backed by Munich Re)

Cost estimates are not quotes. Every page displaying a cost range includes a disclaimer to this effect. The only way to get your actual premium is to run a real quote through a carrier.

Sources We Use

When referencing laws, penalties, or regulatory requirements, we cite primary government sources, including:

  • •State departments of insurance (e.g., Illinois Department of Insurance at idoi.illinois.gov)
  • •State workers' compensation commissions and boards
  • •State licensing authorities (e.g., IDFPR, contractor registrar offices, professional licensing boards)
  • •National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
  • •National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR)

How Often We Update Content

Our industry insurance pages are reviewed and updated on a rolling basis, with cost estimate ranges refreshed at least quarterly. State-specific regulatory content is reviewed whenever we become aware of legislative or regulatory changes in that state.

Each page displaying a cost estimate includes a "Updated [Month Year]" notice reflecting the most recent review date for that page's content.

Commercial Relationships & Transparency

IPA earns commission when a business purchases a policy through our carrier partner links (including NEXT Insurance / ERGO Next). This does not influence the coverage information, cost estimates, or recommendations on this site — we describe the coverage types appropriate for each industry based on professional judgment, not commission structure.

We are not paid to recommend one coverage type over another. Our editorial content is not written to maximize click-throughs — it is written to help business owners understand what coverage they need and why.

Corrections & Feedback

If you believe any content on this site contains an error — including incorrect regulatory information, outdated laws, or inaccurate cost data — please contact us at support@insuranceproagencies.com. We take accuracy seriously and will review and correct reported errors promptly.
